Reba is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). She earned a Master of Science degree from the Couple and Family Therapy Program at the University of Guelph in 2014, receiving training in Dialogic, Solution Focused, Emotionally Focused, Narrative, and sex therapy. Through this diverse training she began to formulate her client-centered, postmodern approach to therapy that has since been at the core of her practice. Upon graduating, Reba gained a position as a program developer with Prep to Step Up, a continuing education program for Neurodiverse adults. Following this, Reba took on the position of Family Liaison Officer at the Toronto Military Family Resource Centre for five years. In this role Reba has clinically supported ill and injured Canadian Armed Forces members, medically released veterans, and their families, as well as the families of the fallen throughout the GTA. As such her work has involved supporting individuals, couples, and families through grief, bereavement, operational stress injuries, complex trauma, anxiety, depression, chronic pain, illness, injury, transition, self-harm, suicidality, and more. Reba is pleased to be continuing her work with Toronto Beyond the Blue in various capacities, including co-facilitating workshops for police officers and their significant others.
Since completing her master’s degree, Reba has obtained a certificate in Trauma counselling and has received training in Theraplay, Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD, Cognitive Behavioural Conjoined Therapy for PTSD, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia, Mindfulness approaches to therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Internal Family Systems. She is currently working towards becoming a registered sex therapist.
Reba’s approach to therapy is non-judgemental and collaborative. She views her clients as the experts on their own lives and strives to maintain an awareness of the unique social location and power dynamics at work for each individual. Utilizing a strength-based systemic approach, Reba supports clients as they re-write their stories in ways that hold meaning for them.
