Stephen Stokl, is the consulting psychiatrist for The Trauma Centre. Dr. Stokl has been a Staff Psychiatrist and was the Chief Psychiatrist from 2009 to 2016. Currently Dr. Stokl is a Staff Psychiatrist at Southlake Regional Health Centre and an Associate (Adjunct) Professor, Faculty of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry, University of Toronto., in addition to maintaining a private practice and conducting seminars for medical professionals. He graduated from the University of Toronto in medicine. After interning at McMaster University Medical Centre and completing locums in Northern Ontario, he practiced emergency medicine in Houston, Texas. Dr. Stokl returned to the University of Toronto to specialize in Psychiatry.
Dr. Stokl is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada. He lectures at the Faculty of Medicine, Dept. of Psychiatry, University of Toronto and is a Medical Examiner for the Medical Council of Canada. He was also the psychiatry team lead of a Canadian Trauma team that responded to 9/11.
Dr. Stokl is also the author of an award winning book entitled Mentally Speaking. His book offers valuable insights on human behaviour and perspective on the basics of why and how we think and act the way we do.
