
Dr. Sahar Bhaloo, M.A, Psy. D, has her Bachelor’s in Science from
Queen’s University, and her Master’s in Counseling and Doctorate in
Clinical Psychology from Adler University. She completed her post-doctoral residency at University of California San Francisco in their SurvivorsInternational and Victims of Violent Crime and Domestic Violence trauma program.
Formerly, Dr. Bhaloo has held roles as the supervising psychologist and
psychological evaluator at the Center for Survivors of Torture and as the Interim Director of the Center for Well being at International Rescue Committee. Prior to this Dr. Bhaloo worked in the Trauma Therapy Program and Women Recovering from Abuse programs at Women’s College Hospital and in numerous psychological emergency, community mental health and addictions and out patient clinics. In addition to her practice in Canada, the US, and India, Dr. Bhaloo has participated in a clinical and capacity building program development role in several international initiatives in mental health and trauma in India, Sri Lanka, and Democratic Republic of Congo.
Dr. Bhaloo sees adult and young adult clients experiencing difficult transitions, stress, relationship issues, work and school performance concerns, anxiety, anger issues, workplace harassment, substance abuse, trauma and different forms of depression (post partum etc). In individual therapy she helps clients navigate and transform the psychological and emotional impact of difficult life experiences, optimizing strengths and building resilience. She brings her international experience, specialization in trauma (DBT trained), background in Adlerian Psychology and expertise with diverse clients to the practice.
