Ilana is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). As a currently serving First Responder herself, Ilana understands that First Responders not only experience a high number of professional traumas that can lead to PTSD, but also experience secondary stressors of the job such as the impacts of shift work; missed birthdays, night shift exhaustion, or stressed family relationships. Coming from a place of shared, relatable experience with First Responder clients and their family members, Ilana is able to offer an objective and confidential space to feel heard and explore new perspectives, as well as more formal trauma-informed approaches when needed.
Ilana works from a predominantly cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and strengths-based approach to empower clients to change their own life, whether it be by addressing personal or professional concerns (or both).
